Ireland came to my Toronto studio for some cake smash photos just a few weeks shy of her first birthday. Her older sister Goldie had also done her cake smash photos at my studio almost a year earlier. We decided on a simple colour theme of pink and purple and I had the perfect balloon garland made just for her. We added some gold letters to spell o-n-e and a big number 1 for her age!
Most parents will bring their baby in for their First Birthday Cake Smash photoshoot just a few weeks before their first birthday if they are planning on using the portraits for the birthday invites or to display a slideshow of all the photos at the party.
Ireland is such a gorgeous, happy baby - she is almost identical to her older sister; they could almost be twins! They both have the most magnificent sparkling, blue eyes and blonde hair. We decided to dress Ireland up in one of my studio outfits from Cora and Violet to add a little glitter to the setup. This cape and matching gold sequin short-set is definitely one of my favourite outfits - if you know me, you will know that I LOVE sequins and glitter and of course PINK!

After the cake smash, babies are often messy so we follow up each session with a bubble bath for clean up and take photos while they splash and play. The bubble bath seems to be their favourite part of the session for most babies... and Ireland is no exception: Check out her big smile!
